My Students

I have a wonderful diverse classroom full of students ready to learn. I am trying to introduce them to the love of reading and getting lost in a book. We have started reading workstations this year to sharpen their skills all around.

I teach in a high needs school with limited technology and funds.

My students are very eager to learn and put a smile on my face everyday. Some students in my room have yet to discover that love for reading. That's what I need your help with! My classroom has a wide range of reading abilities and I want to get them ready to move on to middle school.

My Project

I am requesting sets of books that have a CD for my listening station. 5th graders still love to be read to and this is a way for them to listen to a chapter book that may be higher than their reading level. They will be able to follow along with their copies and listen to the fluency of the reader. I am also requesting dry erase pockets for my workstations. They will be able to work on a reading skill using a worksheet that is in the pocket.

These item will make a difference in each student's day.

My goal is to get students to read quality literature for enjoyment and this could really help. I want them to be excited to open books and read!
