Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My preschool students are three, four and five years old. We are a new full day program this school year. Our students come from different backgrounds creating a beautiful classroom community.
My students are curious about the world around them and are OBSESSED with learning how to read!
We are working very hard this school year in math, literacy, science and social studies! Although our classroom has a variety of fiction texts, we would love the chance to learn more about nonfiction texts!
My Project
Our students will have the opportunity to be exposed to different types of text each week. We are eager to learn as much about the world around us as possible! We have not had the chance to experience literature outside of fictional books. We are excited to add periodicals to our reading repertoire. Our students will be able to share the materials with their families at home. We can help bridge school and home through the materials. We will be able to engage in small group work - looking closely at the text at hand. We can also engage in further research about topics that we are especially interested in!
