We're an active Kindergarten Classroom! My students love learning and are excited to be at school each day. Our classroom is a busy place filled with students (28) and lots of activity. Students are actively engaged throughout the day in small group and hands on activities. These small groups allow students in my classroom to learn on their level as they become critical thinkers. I teach in a Title 1 School, and my students come from diverse backgrounds with diverse needs.
My Project
My students will use these activities to independently explore literacy concepts during our Balanced Literacy Block each day. These activities will help my students to become self guided learners. Students will also learn how to take turns, follow rules, and increase their knowledge of literacy concepts to enhance reading and writing skills. With our large class size this project, if funded, will provide additional opportunities for my students to interact with learning materials. These activities will help my students increase their knowledge of alphabet and syllable knowledge, sentence structure, high frequency word recognitions, word building, and beginning and ending sound skills. The funded project will provide my students with two alphabet games, one ending sound game, two games that focus on syllables, one sentence building game, one word building game, and two games that focus on high frequency words.
