My students need a sand tray, organizational folders, dry erase materials, post-its, chalk, sight word games, and a rhyming bingo game to use to increase their literacy learning during their small group Title I Reading Intervention.
My reading students are in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. They come to my small group setting to improve their reading and writing. They work on phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, comprehension strategies, and improving their writing.
My reading students could really benefit from new materials that will help us improve in our reading and writing in my small group setting and meet our goals for the year!
Sight word cards, rhyming materials, and vowel Bingo will help us with our reading. Sand trays, chalk, dry erase materials, index cards, post its, and wipe off sentence strips will help us with our writing.
The goal is that my students reach the average or above average level in reading and writing in their classrooms and can return to the regular classroom without the extra assistance. The use of these new materials will allow my students resources to use that they enjoy and that will keep their attention, so they can accomplish their reading and writing goals! It will be great to have these resources at school for my students to use.
My Project
The literacy materials will be used every day in my reading classroom by my students who range from Kindergarten to Fourth grade.
The sand tray will improve writing and the learning of letters and words, and is a nice tactile learning tool.
The students can organize reading and writing materials using the folders. The dry erase materials will be used daily as we practice sight words, letters, and build words. The chalk will be used to write letters, words, the students' names on the large chalkboard as we are just beginning to learn how to form letters and make words. The games will give us extra practice with learning to rhyme and practicing our sight words. The post-its will allow us to make written responses to our books that we have read.
The supplies will greatly help my students by giving them the opportunity to practice good writing skills, respond to reading, and keep their materials in an organized way.
