This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I serve a total of 20 students that are happy, and energetic, and display a love for learning new things. I would love for them to have access to numerous books and literacy games to help them build their reading skills. Many of my students are considered at risk, which normally results in them having low reading skills. With access to more e-readers, students will be able to learn how to track print, find letters, and learn new words. Young children’s use of digital devices is increasing as we progress through the 21st century and handheld and mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, have become increasingly available. When e-books are properly selected and used, children develop literacy skills equally well and sometimes better than with print books.
