Our students inspire us to be better educators each and every day! Their desire to learn and put forth their best effort is worthy of applause. Our students represent a diverse population including English Language Learners and minorities. Our school is situated in the middle of our students' neighborhood in the heart of our small, independent district. They have loving families, nurturing teachers and a supportive community surrounding them, but they need your support.
With your generous support, our students will continue on the path of our district's Tradition of Excellence.
We would like all our students to have every opportunity to learn, but the district's budget can not include the crucial resources to supplement our children's education. With your generosity, in an effort to help bridge the gap, we are working to enhance the learning environment for our students.
Why now? Our students would greatly benefit from differentiation in teaching methods. We are a diverse community and our goal is to reach all our students and empower them to achieve continued growth. Our students are committed to putting forth great effort, not backing down from the challenge, and celebrating success with their school family!
My Project
The requested materials will provide engaging, hands-on small group literacy instruction for our students. Words will come to life through creative color recognition in both mentor texts and the students' own writing.
Literacy builds the foundation needed to support all other areas of learning.
The use of colorful highlighting and engaging in small group differentiated instruction will allow students to identify specific comprehension skills in mentor texts that they can in turn recreate in their own writing. Interactive literacy journals will incorporate all requested supplies. This is a school wide initiative implemented to develop powerful literacy skills for our students.
