I currently teach in a Title I school. It is my job to reach all of my students and turn them into lifelong learners. I have twenty two students who are eager to learn. I have three students who receive resource and two students who are currently in an RTI Pullout Program. I have several students who are reading and writing below grade level and then I have several high students functioning on a third-grade level.
My classroom is full of diversity.
I have my Masters in Divergent Learning, and I want to be able to reach all of my students. Helping all of my students reach their learning goals is essential to their success academically, emotionally, and socially.
My Project
I am requesting items to enhance Literacy in my classroom. I am asking for the book buddy bags because the ziplock bags that I currently use are falling apart and do not hold up well. The students take home books daily and these book buddy bags are durable. I am also asking for colorful sentence strips so that students can write their goal they are working on and we can tape it to their desk as a reminder. I saw a fellow colleague do this and it looked amazing.
Learning needs to be challenging, fun, and engaging, kids still need to be kids.
I am also requesting more Hot Dot Cards to have more options for my students. I am asking for the higher level academic vocabulary cards to challenge my higher readers as well as the card set on grade level for those needing that set. There is also a High-Frequency Words Card Set that I would like to add to their options. I am also asking for the I Have Who Has Game and the Academic Vocabulary one as well. I think this will help make learning fun in those few minutes of down time during transitions.
