My students need Chromebooks in this digital age. People are learning in different and exciting ways than ever before. New technology will help me appeal and teach to a wider audience than ever before.
My students are truly a generation of new learners. They're creative, innovative, and hard-working. They're unique and special, each in a special point in their lives where they are becoming the people they are growing up to be. They are funny and creative and loving. They're truly some of the most incredible kids you could ever hope to me.
My students are some of the kindest people could hope to meet.
Teenagers often get a lot of bad press, but they are nothing like the news portrays. These kids have big hearts and incredible senses of justice, both traits that lead to amazing, caring adults. They make sure that our space is a safe and equal space. They make sure that everybody has a voice.
My Project
Technology changes rapidly and students' needs are evolving everyday. New Chromebooks will provide access to new websites and services for evolving learners.
Daily, it seems, new programs are developed to help improve success for all learners.
Programs like Google Read&Write help students develop their reading fluency in ways that were unavailable twenty years ago. So many of these resources are free for classroom use. In this Digital Age, schools are changing to meet the needs and the experiences of our learners. As a teacher, it's my goal to use the ever-changing technological landscape to benefit my students and my classroom.
The majority of today's literacy is done digitally. From reading news documents to reading e-books, the world has evolved to deliver information through a screen, rather than in print media. With these changes, teachers should be prepared to adapt the way they teach in order to help prepare their students for the world they are preparing to enter.
