My Project

My special needs prek students have lacked opportunities to play, and develop essential oral language skills due to the pandemic.

Students need to feel seen heard and understood in the classroom.

This is why I want to give them access to toys that reflect their interests and captivate them.

My students need to learn that school is a fun and safe place to be. I need new learning activities such as puzzles, trains, a tablet, and outdoor toys to get my students excited about learning. I will utilize Lincoln logs and Kindle fire tablet to promote and encourage oral language development for all types of learners in my class. I will utilize balls and nets outside to promote oral language turn taking and vital social skills. I want to tap into their talents interests and motivators. My students like to be outdoors, and have hands on activities available. Students lack exposure to multi-sensory environments and lack the resources needed to develop sufficient language skills. The pandemic has limited their resources and access to experiences, through the use of these items I will enhance their learning and broaden the variety of topics children can be exposed to.
