My students need daily literacy materials, sight word games, and letter practice activities; such as Word Building Center, Build-A-Word Stamps, and I Can Build Simple Words.
The school I teach at is in a Title 1 low income area. Our school is about 85% free or reduced lunch. My students are so precious, but we have needs and missing materials in our classroom to enrich their learning. I want to give them all the best education and have all the materials they need with out taxing families by asking for donations or materials. Please join me in investing in our future with giving all students an amazing, well funded education.
My Project
The literacy standards in Kindergarten are getting more and more rigorous. I need these literacy materials, games and activities to keep students loving learning and being engaged with a high level of interest.
The Word Building Center, Build-A-Word Stamps, and I Can Build Simple Words literacy games and activities will assist students in learning the required 100 sight words, learning to read, creating simple words, and beginning writing skills.
These games will be utilized in our Daily 5 literacy block of our school day. During that time students choose a center for about 10-20 minutes. They can choose read to self, read with partner, small group, word work or independent writing. The materials requested for this project will be options for the Daily 5 small group, word work and independent writing centers.
