My Students

The students benefiting from this grant range from grades Kindergarten through Grade 5. The students will be participating in a Family Literacy Night. One activity students will participate in is a family literacy game room. Students will play games at the literacy night event and enter to win that game to keep and play at home!

Another activity will be Book Bingo in which the students will have opportunities to win free books provided by this grant.

My focus is to increase the importance of family time and literacy at home.

My Project

The game materials requested will be introduced to students at a family literacy night. Families will learn how to play the games requested and then enter to win the games. This will not only provide quality literacy games to a few families in our school, but it will hopefully inspire families to add to their game collections at home.

The books requested will be available to win through playing Book Bingo.

All resources from this grant will go directly to the homes of the students at our school.

Games are an important way to bring literacy into lives of all kids. Students not only learn the academic goals of the game, but cooperation, team work, and waiting their turn which are all skills to success!
