My Students

I teach 21 amazing kindergarteners! They have a boat load and energy and are very eager and curious to learn new things. They’re always asking me questions and wanting to know how to create things and make things using materials they know.

For example: My students brainstormed, created and ran trials to create their own sustainable suitcases for our PBL Project.

My students appreciate learning through the application of real-world skills. My school is rooted in Problem-Based Learning. These hands-on learning experiences provide a comfortable environment for children to form friendships and be themselves while learning. They get the opportunity to solve real-world problems that they face in their communities. (My school is a 95% free and reduced lunch.) As a result, I am able to capitalize on my students' cultural wealth while also enhancing their education.

My students love to read and write independently and we practice daily so that we will improve. We have their own journals and students get to freely write. My also students love to have interactive technology. I incorporate digital learning in centers to keep them engaged.

My Project

My students will use the listening cassette as a listening center for phonics and reading. Students will practice their listening skills, comprehension, and writing skills. This will be a great literacy tool that my students can benefit from.

The leveled books so my students will have books on that they can independently read.

Students will work on fluency and comprehension. I can use them as a teacher center for guided reading.

I will use the easel for interactive anchor charts. I host a lot of discussions with my students. I use anchor chart like a study guide. It’s a great tooI to highlight important content from a lesson. I can also move it around the classroom. Lastly it will be easier to hold past anchor charts.
