Teaching is a work of heart. I had amazing teachers growing up. Fifteen years ago, I became a teacher to be like the amazing teachers I had. Today I am teaching amazing and exceptional students to become lifelong learners and to persevere through their hardships. My school is a Leader in Me school. We teach our students leadership skills and guide them to become leaders in the classroom, in the school, and around the community.
Teaching isn't an easy job; however, the smiles, the laughs, the light bulb moments are all positive signs that my leaders are growing and learning!
My classroom is full of eager leaders. They come to school to learn, play, and create. They are witty, funny, and most of all, amazing! My leaders' needs vary in severity and area. They may have behavioral needs, academic needs, and/or social needs - each as unique as the individual learner. However, their ambitions and desires are no different than their peers. We are different but not less. Please join me in supporting our future.
My Project
Reading is essential. My students love books and are always asking if they can borrow a book to read at home. (Of course! Anything to encourage reading!)
We want a Little Free Library to promote literacy at school, home, and around the community.
I am requesting a Little Free Library so ALL the students and parents can have access to books. Money won't be a factor as the students and parents can come, pick out a book, and take for their keeping or returning. They can also exchange books they've read and are ready to depart with. This Little Free Library will have no limits for anyone who wants to read.
I have also requested a vacuum to help keep our classroom clean. My students and I enjoy sitting on the floor but there is so much dust and dirt. WIth this vacuum, we'll have a clean floor where we won't have to worry about that.
