Help me give my students some desperately needed new materials! We need some sight words readers, CVC word practice, art supplies, and math facts practice!
My students are so special. Even though more than half of them come from unfortunate situations, broken homes, and poverty they still inspire me to be the best teacher I can be. I want to give them every opportunity available to become successful in the future to make school a safe and welcoming place for them any way I can because they aren’t getting that anywhere else. My students in rural Tennessee love to tell stories, create art and music, explore, and use the technology that is available to them each and every day. They are worth every effort I can do to make their school day the best it can be.
My Project
These supplies will be put to good use in our first grade classroom. Almost all of my students come from low income families, most of them are raised by non immediate family members or have been adopted or are in foster care. They are so deserving of some new and exciting literacy materials for our classroom. We will use the CVC word practice and math fact practice in centers! We will use the sight word books in guided reading and for take home practice. We will use the art supplies for practicing the new phonics skills that we learn!
