My students need 5 dictionaries and 21 subscriptions to both Weekly Reader and Time for Kids to expand their budding love for reading.

Help us Expand our Reading Horizon!! I teach first grade in an economically disadvantaged school. Parents can't afford to pay for supplemental materials. Weekly Reader and Time for Kids introduce students to reading educational material for fun.

My students have shown excitement when I read to them from magazine type materials. Text books seem more like work than reading for enjoyment.

Weekly Reader and Time for Kids give students the impression they are reading a "magazine" . This engages the students because they feel like they are doing it for fun and not just academic purposes.

You will make it possible for me to foster an enjoyment for reading in the hearts of young children. This translates to students that seek literacy development opportunities.
