My students need class sets of 3 grade level novels, "Charlotte's Web", "Lunch Money", and "Dear Levi: Letters from the Overland Trail" to read together, so we can develop reading comprehension, critical thinking and writing.

My Students

Help us get ready for the common core standards while developing the love for reading!

Our school has a highly diverse population and need enrichment opportunities.

I love to read and want my students to develop that love for literacy too. With funding slipping away from us teachers, I am hoping to stock class sets of various novels for our fourth grade classes.

My Project

We need class sets of grade level novels to read together, so we can develop reading comprehension, critical thinking and writing. With these books, I will be able to share rich literature with my students. I can help students to develop strategies to improve their reading and helps them to become independent readers. With guided reading, there are opportunities for students to engage in dialog analysis; they will have opportunities to discuss a text with each other, communicate their own ideas and learn from the knowledge and ideas of other students in the group.

In addition to developing literacy, my guided reading will help students prepare for the English Language Arts Common Core Standards.
