Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you know what it feels like to have fun while learning? My students are active learners in the classroom through creative, hands-on activities that are tailored to their individual needs.
The diverse students in my classroom come from a rural setting and many are English Language Learners.
The support of the community, families, and educators makes our school successful and is a warm, caring place where our students are able to achieve success.
My Project
With your donations, my students will use these resources to further their reading and decoding skills.I have requested art supplies so that students may re-create and retell stories we read in class. I have also requested a class set of dry erase markers so that my students can utilize their whiteboards and I can monitor their understanding.
We use whiteboards for a wide array of activities. Most importantly, I have requested resources for a classroom listening center, where students may listen to stories. Students will practice word recognition, story retelling, and spelling skills. These supplies will help students access valuable literacy skills through hands-on, active learning. Students will use their higher-order thinking skills to link new skills to existing ones.
The importance of this project lies in the ability to help young readers improve their literacy skills and develop a lifelong love of reading.
