My Project

My first grade students are so enthusiastic about reading and are working hard to learn our grade level material. However, many of my students have successfully mastered the first grade word lists and are in need of a challenge. This project will provide reading based card games to introduce new concepts and words in a fun environment.

This group of students is in need of more challenging word work to keep them learning and excited about reading.

They are reading at or above grade level, and I want to encourage them to continue to grow and improve. This project will provide materials that incorporate social skills as they work together to face more challenging content.

Word wall challenges, Bingo games, and more challenging sight word cards will help my class excel. These materials will be a fantastic resource for my advanced readers, but will also be able to be adapted for the whole class. Skills such as reading comprehension and decoding are things all my students need. This project will provide materials for learning centers, small group instruction, and partner work. I hope to provide individual and shared challenges which will help my students thrive as readers.
