My Students

My students need class additional literature books to enhance the reading curriculum.

The students in our school are outstanding, and the students in our grade level are exceptional.

They are energetic learners who are great at academics. They need opportunities to go beyond the text that is provided and are limited only by the materials that can be provided to them. I am using DonorsChoose as a source to supply a variety of texts to my classroom.

My Project

We need new chapter books to support our reading program. The Wild Robot is a chapter book that will not only introduce our students to new worlds, but teach reading skills that can only be learned through longer pieces of writing.

I am requesting materials that will help our students expand their reading skills beyond what a basal reader can do with short stories.

Basal readers can help with many basic reading skills, but the structure of chapter books helps students develop reading skills in deep and complex ways. We need this to support our grade levels goals for common core standards.
