Help me give my students a larger selection of books so they can have more choice. It is important to have a large class library so that students can stay engaged in reading.
My students are energetic 7 and 8-year-olds that are excited about learning. They love to read, write, and research to learn about topics that interest them. They strive to learn and try new things every day!
They are very capable when it comes to areas of technology and project-based learning.
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day eager to learn something new.
We use a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met. Our school is community-minded and we work together with students, parents, and families to make sure our students achieve success. It is an honor to work with such a caring and thoughtful school and community.
My Project
When readers have new and exciting books to read it increases their love for reading. Classrooms need a large number of books to promote a print-rich environment and develop a desire to read.
Literacy is a very important part of learning and classrooms that are able to provide choice for readers have a greater chance of increasing reading, writing, and vocabulary.
Students need 10-12 books on their level in their book boxes so they can stay engaged for longer periods of time and build stamina as well as learning strategies to increase their reading levels and to improve reading comprehension.
