My Students

My students are an exciting blend of personalities and varied backgrounds. They cover a wide range of abilities from students who can read beginning chapter books to some who are still learning all their letter sounds. They love to be active and are very social and outgoing.

In this classroom, I have worked hard to create a sense of family and community.

We are part of a large school located in the beautiful Willamette Valley in Oregon. We really focus on mindfulness and learning how the brain makes decisions. Through learning breathing exercises and focusing on proper decision making, the students are making big strides in becoming great students and good citizens.

My Project

This project will go a long way in helping students with both literacy and math. These magnetic dry erase boards are the perfect complement to my teaching for helping students learn how to read and write. The boards will assist students in math as well.

Creating words with both dry erase pens and letter magnets will give students good practice at forming words in a variety of different ways.

Having a class set will also help when we return to in-person learning so that the kids can their own individual board.
