Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create and support my the diverse needs of my students. My classroom library is a place that my students can feel safe and comfortable. It is a place where they can escape the chaos of a foreign place. Every book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care. My students will be grateful for the opportunity to read for pleasure in their native languages. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school look titles just like these, but in English. and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books, in their native language, that will allow them to read for enjoyment and at their independent level.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more and to grow a love for reading. These books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading by allowing them to access text in their native language. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
