I teach in a Title I, high poverty school. 100% of the school population receives free breakfast and lunch. I have the privilege of teaching a First/Second combination class full of students eager to learn.
My students are curious and enthusiastic about reading and learning new things.
It is so exciting to see them bloom as avid readers and writers. Their love for reading is what I want to continue to see grow in my students. My students work well together and continue to amaze me as they make the most of their learning opportunities.
My Project
My goal is to involve my students in engaging literature and writing activities that will help to build their vocabulary along with their comprehension skills.
This project will help me to plan higher level instructional lessons to meet my students needs.
The project will also allow the students to become engaged in their reading strategies and reading achievement. The resources in this project will expose my students to quality literature and continue to build on their reading strategies as well as becoming proficient readers. By funding this project you are giving my students exposure to quality literature and building on their love of reading.
