This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I would like for my students to leave third grade not only reading, but feeling confident in their skills. I want to mold life long readers.

My students come to me with varying backgrounds of family support.

I have found it necessary to provide "lap time" that many of my students have missed out on. Books on tape or CD may help fill this deficit for children who have missed out on auditory support of being read to. I have many different students with diverse backgrounds and levels of English language. Most of my students are low income and lack support from home. They look forward to their day at school where they know they are loved and supported in all that they do. They strive for approval and love success. My students bring a wonderful spirit and diverse culture to classroom that keeps me teaching every day. Despite what their home life, they are happy.
