I teach Special Education in an urban, public neighborhood school in Erie, PA. The children and families in our school community are a diverse cross section of many different cultures, ethnic groups, and languages.
When working with young people, there are times you see results in 10 seconds, and there are times you won't see them for 10 years.
Either way, keep planting those seeds of character; eventually, they bloom!
Our life skills and autistic support students have many challenges facing them, now more than ever. Our district has decided to adopt a hybrid model which includes virtual and in person learning. We will need to keep our social distance during the in-person learning. With this project I’m hoping to provide the safest most comfortable atmosphere possible. This project will allow my students the safety and security with the maximum protection possible during this pandemic.
My Project
My students have been amazing during this pandemic! They are rock stars at home learning! They log on everyday and are happy to see their classmates. However the volume is not the best and the computers are often times not as loud as we would like. The headphones will allow them to plug into the computer and remove any other noises going on around them. The speakers will allow them the choice to plug in the headphones or listen through the speaker. This is extremely important for our sensory needs.
