My students need Listen & Learn Letter Sounds Activity Program to strengthen beginning and ending letter and sound skills as well as long and short vowels.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We have all sat in a classroom and listened to someone talk giving us information that sends us into overdrive or shuts our brains down. A listening center activity that teachers letters and letter sounds will allow my students a new interactive way to learn.
My students come to school from surrounding area cities.
Most of them come from a low income family with one parent struggling to hold the family together. They suffer from low academics and many suffer from ADHD. They come to learn, but some days it is a struggle to keep them on task. I have to make sure that we are always on the move and we have a lot of hands on activities and movements planned for the day.
My Project
My students need Listen & Learn Letter Sounds Activity Program to strengthen beginning and ending letter and sound skills as well as long and short vowels. Picture a class of first grade students struggling to stay on task and pay attention to the teacher. Imagine that they have given up on the material presented. Now picture that same class of students putting on headphones and diving into a book or lesson while listening to it on a CD or cassette. With the listening center that we were previously awarded through Donors Choose, the students will be able to use this Listen and Learn Letter Sounds Activity Program to identify beginning and ending sounds as well as long and short vowels. This activity program will allow my students to complete valuable letter sound activities for each letter as I teach them the letters and sounds. It will reinforce valuable skills that they need to sound out words and read.
This Listen and Learn Letter Sounds Activity Program will allow students to work independently and in small groups to complete important reinforcement lessons on beginning and ending sounds as well as long and short vowels.
They will be able to dive into a lesson through the headphones and find themselves in a whole new learning experience. This listening center will allow a chance for small group involvement and independent work centers
