Teaching kindergarten requires a lot of creativity and ways to keep the students involved. My group of 5-6 year olds keep me entertained and challenge me every day to find new and fun ways for them to learn.
My kindergarteners are an active and inquisitive group of kids that love to learn.
They love to hear stories, work in centers, and get so excited when they learn something new and "can do it." They come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds and family support systems so I try to provide each child with the support and resources that they need to learn and grow.
My Project
Exposure to various literature and fluent reading is an essential part of building reading skills. One way I accomplish this in my classroom is through a listening center with books on cd and tape. However this beneficial experience often leads to frustration and lost instructional time when students can't hear clearly or time must be used to untangle headphone wires.
A wireless headphone system with individual volume control will allow my students to spend more time learning and for me to spend more time teaching.
Students will be able to quickly get headphones and start listening to the story instead of untangling cords and adjusting plugs or volume. I will also be able to focus on working with other students instead of having to untangle cords or fix faulty headphones. Please consider helping reduce the frustration of technical difficulties and help my kindergarteners build a love for reading.
