My students need headphones to be able to complete a financial literacy program, which focuses on teaching them wise saving and spending habits. It also teaches them digital citizenship components through real life scenarios.

My Students

I teach in a beautiful rural area with a high rate of poverty, because of this all of our students receive free lunch. Many issues come with poverty but I want my students to know that they have the power to be anything they want. I want them to recognize that they have the power to change things and to make a difference with their voice and their choices. I try to teach them that even little changes can have a huge impact on their lives and the lives of others.

My Project

Headphones will allow my students to participate in a financial literacy course, allow them to work at their own pace, and continue to be independent learners by exploring interests that are meaningful to them.

This will open up a whole new world of learning for them.

They will be able to explore and progress at a pace that is comfortable for them. Students who process at a slower rate won't feel pressured to move on before they have a chance to understand what they have heard and process that information.

Students will be able to gather information and practice presentation skills which will build public speaking and communication skills and self confidence.
