My Students

Remember the magic of listening to a story on tape or CD? My students have not yet been able to experience this magic.

I work in a low income school in Central Maine.

My students often come to school without the necessary resources to learn. I often use money from my own pocket to provide the tools my students need to get the most from their learning. We have a great learning community, but we could accomplish so much more with your help.

My Project

A listening center will help my students to hear fluent reading and reading with expression and meaning. Many of my students struggle with reading fluently and would improve with this model of reading. Listening to a story being read aloud is much more fun than reading the story yourself and students enjoy hearing the music and characters.

A listening center will help my students to become the best readers possible.

They will hear fluent reading and expression and develop their own reading skills. I hope that as my students are improving, they will become life-long readers and share my love of literacy!
