My students, in this third and fourth grade self-contained Autistic classroom, are a unique and diverse group of individuals who are enthusiastic and inquisitive. Our school is a wonderful place where students who come from different backgrounds are given the opportunity to learn and grow together.
Technology plays a crucial role in today’s classroom.
Technology is not just a tool, but a necessity. It adds a variety of ways to provide support and remediation. Technology enables students to interact with learning. Many of my students need visual stimuli to keep them engaged, others need material read to them from a computer, so it is crucial for them to have access to technology. A laptop would be an excellent addition to our special education program.
I am requesting a HP laptop, wireless mouse, and audio books to create a listening center for my students. Students will listen and follow along to books read aloud to them. Listening to fluent reading is one way to enhance students reading skills. Students will also use the laptop to access online resources that read the stories, then have comprehension questions and requires students to type a response. A laptop will add an element of excitement that will intrigue students’ minds.
This project will promote fluency, comprehension, and typing skills.
This project would have a huge impact on my students. By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student literacy skills, you will ultimately help to increase their overall academic achievement. Your kindness and generosity will be appreciated.
