My Students
Our school is one out of fifteen schools in an urban school district that has over 11,000 students. The students come from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds but they all have the same focus, which is learning.
My students come to school everyday with big smiles on their faces, ready to learn!
They are excited to learn new things but for some of them it's not so easy. I would like to give them the opportunity to be as successful as they can be in the classroom. Each student is unique in their economic and cultural background and over half of them come from low income households with limited technological resources.
My Project
My students need special help in Reading and phonics so our school district has paid for them to work on a computer program, however our district does not have enough money to pay for headphones for the students to use. When four or five students are working at the same time it is very hard to concentrate. I think the students would get more benefit out of the program if they had headphones and could just concentrate on their own work.
Over half of our students come from low income households and it is difficult for them to bring in their own personal headphones.
They will be very excited if they had headphones to use for the computer program.
