Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am so grateful to have the best second graders around. Since their first day of school, they have demonstrated their willingness to learn and their compassion for their fellow classmates.
My students come to school every day prepared to begin their learning adventure.
Even though not everyone has school supplies, their peers are eagerly willing to share theirs. I strive to create a safe learning environment where everyone's opinions matter and everyone feels a part of our family. Second graders rock!
My Project
We have tried using iPads at our learning stations, but we always end up with four different iPads talking to four different students about four different tasks...NO ONE can hear a thing! The headphones will provide my second grade students with a quiet space to work in that focuses on student centered activities. My students will then have access to unlimited possibilities to grow as learners in reading and math!
These headphones will be an incredible tool for listening to "just right" books and will allow my students to listen to multiple stories being told to accommodate the range of reading comprehension that exists in our classroom.
These headphones and clipboards will also be used to help reinforce foundational math skills and allow my students to focus on their own progress in their own space. The clipboards will allow my students to be learners anywhere in our room!
