Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students consist of a mixture of kindergarten, first and second graders. They all have Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and spend time with me for all or part of their reading, math, or writing blocks. Our school is a Title I school tucked into an older neighborhood of Albuquerque. All of our students qualify to receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are excited to be back to school and are eager to learn new things. We have hit the ground running and I cannot wait to see what gains they will make this school year!
My Project
These 'I Can Read' books will allow students to get lost in fiction while improving their reading skills. The variety of titles in this bundle will make sure that my students will find something they like.
My students are emerging readers who love to lose themselves in a good story with a soft fluffy pillow.
I remember reading Frog and Toad in elementary and I want to bring this series to my students. The Frog and Toad books with audio will help my beginning readers to enjoy listening to the story instead of worrying about correctly reading the text. Plus the audio cd will model good reading technique for its listeners.
