My Students

Kindergarten is a fun grade, and such a unique experience for students and teachers. Some of my students are at school for the first time. They are excited and nervous on the first day of school (but so am I). I love getting to know their unique personalities and learning styles each year. My class this year is so silly, they have a great sense of humor. I want my students to have a safe and fun learning environment where each child feels honored and gets what they need.

My Project

My class loves listening to stories and learning interactively on their iPads. Speaking and listening are a big part of learning in kindergarten and are important for language learning at a young age.

Headphones for the listening center will be used with books, and also with lessons on the interactive whiteboard for individualized learning.

Students love learning with their headphones on the carpet. They feel like they are in a special club, and it frees me to work with small groups while giving all students what they need.

We use our iPads for all kinds of things. When we are working on individual goals (with programs like Moby Max) headphones help keep them focused, and keeps the rest of the class quiet.
