The students in my class come from a variety of backgrounds. This year our district has gone through a lot of changes, so I will have many new-to-the-school kiddos. In addition to all these changes, my school is a Title I school. A large portion of families in this area struggle to provide basic school necessities, making it difficult to have a fully stocked classroom.
Even though these students face difficulties children should never have to worry about, they still love to learn.
They come to school excited to see their teachers and to focus on their school work.
My Project
My students have access to various technology (computers, iPads, Chromebooks, listening centers, etc.) every single day in my classroom. Headphones are a necessity when all of these forms of learning are happening at once.
Technology is an integral part of our future, and our kiddos need practice these skills.
With the use of headphones in our room, my students will be able to focus on their work regardless of how many other devices are being used around them.
As a second grade classroom, my students are learning to expand their writing skills while still needing to draw pictures to match. I have asked for journals for each student so they can have a space for their writing and drawing to be all their own.
