Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a total of eighty-four, amazing students who are learning Spanish as a strong first language, a second or even a third language. My students are a caring and compassionate group of kids. They care and worry about each other. If I am unaware of something that is going on and I want to know more, all I need to do is ask.
My students come from diverse backgrounds, cultures and needs.
Although our school might be situated in a high poverty neighborhood, my students never complain about anything and are thankful for what they have.
My Project
These headphones will give students the opportunity to listen to media weather at the listening center to develop first or second language, on a literacy program to sharpen important literacy skills or taking an assessment online.
Providing students access to these headphones makes it possible to tailor learning to individual needs on different district and teacher provided resources.
It also provides access to content for our language learning students. In our dual language program, this means access to Spanish and English materials.
The few headphones that I have slowly bought are breaking down since I currently have eighty-four students giving them great use. Students were welcomed to bring in their own, but with limited resources at home, I only had two students who were able to do this.
