My students are bright, engaged and curious! They enjoy project-based, fun, engaging lessons and projects that require them to think critically find solutions! Each morning when my students enter school they are ready to take on the day!
We know that students thrive in an environment where scientifically based practices allow them to explore and learn, move, and challenge one another.
My goal is to give them everything they need to make that happen.
Our school is located in what was once a booming automotive industry town. With those businesses long closed, the city has suffered and our families and schools are lacking what is needed to bring them back to flourishing.
While each student in my room comes ready to learn, the ways in which each child learns varies greatly which requires a great deal of differentiation and opportunities. To meet their needs, I use flexible seating, learning centers, hands-on opportunities, differentiated materials and curriculum, and engagement across all learning styles.
My students are an amazing group of kids who can change the world!
My Project
Listening to books or other texts allows students to read at higher levels than they would independently. A listening & storage center will allow my students to read along to books. It helps expose them to a wider variety of texts and vocabulary. Listening to reading provides students with a model of fluency and is a priceless addition to any diverse classroom.
By donating to our project, students will be exposed to listening to reading through the Daily 5 model that gives them choice and teaches them to become independent literacy learners.
