Listening Ears in the Flipped Classroom

My students need headphones to use with the Chromebook technology on a daily basis. We are currently sharing and borrowing which limits our time. Also, we need a great pencil sharpener.

My Students

My classroom is home to 43 students with a wide range of abilities including special education, second language learners, learning disabled, mainstream learners and higher level thinkers. We are a Title I school with students from a diverse backgrounds, and a high population of low socioeconomic households.

Often students do not have the supplies needed for daily activities, so I want to provide the essentials.

I want my classroom to be a second home to each of my kiddos!

It is important to meet all of my students' needs, know each student and provide a learning experience that matters! Students learn reading, writing, grammar and Texas history in my classroom.

My Project

This school year I have put some flipped lessons into our daily rotations, which require videos with sound. Often parents in our district can't afford to provide essentials like pencils and notebooks, so asking for a working pair of headphone to use with technology just isn't feasible. I look forward to having headphones available for students who don't have any, so they won't have to feel singled out when borrowing from a friend or walking to the computer lab. Also, we are on our third pencil sharpener for the year! My students will be ecstatic to have a new one.
