My Students
My classroom consists of 17 eager students who are passionate and driven to learn. I'm looking to build strong literacy skills in my scholars so they have strong foundational skills on which to build in years to come.
Hurricane Maria has greatly impacted our school community.
There are several students who are learning a new language for the first time. I need the necessary tools to help bridge those language gaps and become a more effective teacher for those students.
My school has one of the largest bilingual populations in Orange County. We have welcomed many displaced students from Puerto Rico. Many students are learning and reading in English for the first time.
My Project
I am asking for several Lakeshore Learning Math and Reading centers that will enable my students to reinforce phonemic awareness, phonics and basic math skills. I am also asking for centers resources such as headphones, CD players and a listening bench to complete our listening center in which students will listen to and read stories via tablets to boost reading fluency and confidence.
New centers and a completed listening center would allow me to offer my students better and more efficient ways to explore new knowledge and remain academically engaged while reinforcing prior knowledge.
My students will benefit from the change of pace and scenery created by adding new learning stations. A completed listening center will allow for the integration of technology into my classroom which is directly aligned with the 21st century learning environment.
