Help me give my students a listening center to improve their reading skills and learn about the world around them.

These amazing students are excited to learn all about the world around them. My school is located in a low-income area and very little resources in the neighborhood or school. There are so many outdated materials in my classroom.
My students are energetic and eager to learn.
They get so excited about the celebrating the small things in life. It is heartbreaking to see some students come in on the first day of school with no folders or notebooks, but that doesn't stop them from wanting to learn.
When you enter the classroom you are greeted with hugs and smiles that just warms your heart.
My students need a listening center! Please help my 2nd graders improve their reading skills with a listening center. Students love to listen to books on tapes and follow along with phonics songs.
Books are key to open little minds to traveling the world and learning about new places.
Students will be so excited to spend time listening to their favorite read alouds or even recording their reading on tape and listening back to it. My 2nd graders are so excited about school and would love the opportunity to have this as one of their center choices.
My students come from low-economic homes and do have very little books in their home or none at all. Many of my students have parents working 2-3 jobs to meet the needs of their family. So, many of my families do not have time to read to their child at night. As their teacher, I want them to read as much as possible while in class with me.
