My Students

We are a fun and hard-working group of kindergartners! As a Title I school, we are always looking for any opportunity to practice skills and learn more.

With our large spread in ability levels and limited resources available, all supports for students are greatly appreciated and utilized.

With students from all walks of life and a variety of preschool experiences, my students come to kindergarten with a range of knowledge. Their bright smiles light up any room and they are ready for learning every day.

My Project

Help me give my students a great starter listening center! The listening center materials will help my students dive deeper into their beginning reading skills. Listening to stories and following along a text is a huge support to kindergartners. It builds listening skills, phonics, and can be used to support writing skills.

We use our listening center four times a week, as part of our Literacy Centers time.

All students get a chance to listen and follow along to a story, and is one of their favorite centers to do. But our book selection is lacking! Some books are too old and falling apart, some are missing the cd or tape, and some only have one book. This project will help boost our materials greatly and give new, fresh material for students to use.
