My Students

I am a first grade teacher in a school system in low income area. I teach all subjects and have a wide range of abilities in my classroom. I have children that come from many different backgrounds. Some of my families work at a local mill in our community while others are temporary employees and move around a lot.

I strongly believe in what I do and have a great passion for teaching and children!

I believe that you get what you put in and for me it's very important that every child be treated and feel as they are my own!

My Project

Our students are currently using old headphones that don't always work. They are required to listen to a weekly story and answer comprehension questions, and without newer headphones to hear the story well, they can't answer their weekly questions that can affect their final grade.

Having up to date equipment will help their reading capabilities!

Some of our students aren't on grade level reading, so any chance they can hear stories fully will benefit them greatly. It will also help with students at other centers not being disturbed by kids trying to play the story loudly to be able to hear without headphones.
