Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love it when I read them a read aloud. But when we play one of the few books-on-tape that our class owns, their eyes BRIGHTEN UP as soon as they hear the magical character's voice on tape/CD.
My special needs students are amazing!
I have three first graders and nine kinder students. They all have different learning styles, but I can assure you that they all have one thing in common...they ALL love to listen to stories on CDs. Our school is located in a primarily immigrant low-income neighborhood. Many of my students' parents can not afford to purchase classic children's books.
My Project
I am requesting headphones and stories on CDs for our classroom listening center. These listening center items will enhance my students' learning not only in literacy and skill building but also in teaching them to follow directions by learning how to work the center independently during "Center" time.
These items for our classroom listening center will help my special needs students' literacy skills and it will also put a huge SMILE on their faces!
My students will feel proud as they listen and learn how to read classic children stories.
