My Students

I am a second year teacher at a newly opened charter school located in Las Vegas, NV. I have a class of 25 bright and unique kindergarten students. The students at our school come from varying backgrounds, however they all have one thing in common; they are highly motivated by technology.

We are a STEM based school, but unfortunately lack the funds needed to provide our students with technology that would potentially enrich their education.

With technology to help reinforce and further motivate their learning, I believe my kindergarteners will have the opportunity to be beyond successful this school year.

My Project

My students need a listening center to help strengthen their reading comprehension skills. Kindergarteners work on retelling, identifying characters and setting, sequencing, and many other important comprehension skills. A listening center that fits up to eight students would be a valuable addition to our literacy centers.

Your generous donation would directly support the skills of 25 emergent readers.

Young children of this generation are highly motivated by technology. A listening center would be both motivating to my students as well as effective at addressing their needs as new readers. Thank you for your time and thank you for helping encourage our love of reading!
