Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are kindergarten. We are very busy and we love to read! Listening to stories is a great way to develop a love of reading and this is very important for my students. Reading brings students into another world and lets their imaginations run wild.
My school is located on the southwest side of Chicago.
The school is mainly a Spanish speaking school. The sense of community is very tightly knit. The staff and teachers are all hardworking for the best possible education to our students. The students are wonderful!
My Project
My students will be able to have a listening center and will be able to listen to stories using these books and CDs. I can expose my students to different genres and types of stories. They will be able to discuss their opinions on the story. They can use their imagination and be kids and enjoy stories.
The donation of a listening center and stories will have a great impact in my classroom.
Books are extremely important for children to explore and see where their imagination can go. Having this donation will bring stories to life for my students to enjoy and develop a love of reading.
