Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I teach kindergarten in Slidell, Louisiana. Our school received significant damage by flooding during Hurricane Katrina as did all the homes of our students. Nearly everything in our school was discarded by a flood team. I have spent the last year rebuilding my classroom. One thing I am still lacking is a listening center for my class. I need books and tapes to help foster the love of reading my students have exhibited to me. The children been through so much over the last year and deserve the most out of their educational experience. The listening center will provide endless hours of learning and enjoyment. Thank you for taking the time to read my proposal. :)
