Listening Center - Focus on Fluency, Part 2

My Project

I am trying to set up a listening center in my classroom! The goal is to have a book in the hands of each student in the small group so they can all follow along to a book being read aloud on CD.

This will help them decode unfamiliar words and hear the expression and pacing in fluently reading texts.

As they are just beginning to learn to read, these skills will make them better readers themselves! The duplicate paperbacks in this project will make a complete set of 4 books for the book/CD combos I have in another project. This way, each kid can actually hold their own book and follow along more easily (without having to share). I also added a couple of new books and CD sets to offer more variety to my students. I can’t wait to implement this center into our small group time!
