Listening Center and Audio Books: Building Fluency and Comprehension
Help me give my students a working CD/cassette player and junction box so more than one student can use our listening center at a time. New fiction and nonfiction books on CD will give my students more variety.
My students are an active and energetic group of first graders. We believe in a classroom community built on trust and caring between everyone in the classroom.
Our class is full of interactive, social and hands-on lessons.
Center rotations, partner work, and student-led learning create an interactive learning environment where each student can thrive.
Our class was formed after the start of the school year and we have all embraced our new classroom family and the change that came with it.
My students enjoy interactive learning centers and lessons. Our listening center is old and unreliable and the variety of books on CD is limited. The new junction box will let whole reading groups enjoy the listening center at the same time.
A new listening center for our classroom will help my students work on building their reading fluency and comprehension skills in fun new ways.
I try to use a listening center weekly but our book selection is limited. New fiction and nonfiction books will give my students variety while they are working on their reading fluency and comprehension at the listening center.
