My Students

My students are just learning how to read and need materials that promote reading and independence.

The students in my classroom are very active.

I have 17 boys and 4 girls. They are in young fives. They love to work together but need their own personal space because they are learning to keep their hands and feet to self. My students come from many different walks in life.

My Project

The listening center will create a center for the students to listen to stories and follow the text. They will be able to do this without spending time trying to untangle cords and having to sit super close to other friends. I will be using this center daily during our reading centers. This gives the students a quiet activity to work on while I am working with another small group.

It will help each of my students enjoy reading and help motivate them to dig into books. This listening center will be used a great deal and I can see it being one of my students favorite centers to go to.
