Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our classroom is made up of 23 students all from a small town in California. My students are fun, loving, responsible and ambitious first graders that are excited about learning! This is my first year teaching, and I love it!
As a teacher on an internship, these students have helped me be the best student I could be as well as being the best 1st year teacher I could be for them!
These students have helped me so much during my 1st year of teaching. As I was going through the credential program these students helped me reach every goal I had and helped me with completing assignments and new strategies I had learned. These students are up for change and love learning new things!
My Project
In our classroom we have had a generous donation of a listening center but do not have enough books to last us through the school year. These materials will give the students more books to listen to, with books I feel helped me as a students. I have selected these groups of books because they are at levels that will be age appropriate and leveled appropriately for the students.
This project will help the students listening center library grow, one leveled book at a time!
Having these books join our classroom will give the students more of a variety to listen to during guided reading. These books can also be used with follow up lessons where the students can write about their favorite part in the book and hunt for sight words to help them become the best sight word detectives.
